An important factor in dynamic application access is the
flexibility with which access status can be changed. INiS provides a
simple system with 3 predefined categories: |
||
|
|
The "permanently locked" category is for crucial applications
used for configuration and system maintenance, that are best kept hidden.
Permanently locked applications will not be able to be activated on
the fly. We recommend System Administrators to work closely with teachers
to decide on the most suitable settings for this category.

|
|
|
All applications allocated to the "permanently unlocked"
category are available to everybody in the classroom to launch and use.
This setting is recommended for programs considered essential as part
of a lesson, such as the Calculator.

|
The "Dynamic Access" category defines applications
that can be activated at the teachers discretion at any time when required.
This setting is recommended for any programs whose access status will
change according to the lessons requirements, e.g. a game which is at
first locked but will later be made accessible as a treat to students.
