Internet usage for research is more and more commonplace in schools these days, unfortunately so is the abuse of these facilities. The INiS Internet Module monitors Internet access dynamically according to preset filters. This is ideal for allowing students to surf the web and where it is necessary, to permit or restrict viewing of certain web sites through a positive or negative list. This also blocks search access and visits to sites that contain unsuitable words as defined by the content filter. The teacher can individually monitor all of the web sites currently viewed by drilling down to each desktop, including an overview of the restricted sites that they have been trying to access. Teachers can even lock and unlock WebPages dynamically 'on the fly' either to the benefit of a specific student or a user group as required. |
